Jessica Wurtz

Jessica grew up in Colorado Springs, but with a family full of Western State College (as it was called then) graduates, she visited Gunnison frequently growing up and often dreamed of finding a way to live here. After going off to play lacrosse at Bryn Mawr College, where she earned her B.A. in Anthropology, she returned to Colorado to pursue a graduate degree in Public Health. After working for a few county health departments and non profits, circumstances finally allowed her to relocate to the Gunnison Valley.

Shortly after moving, Jessica began working for Project Hope of Gunnison Valley to run their community outreach programming. Eventually, she became the Executive Director and led Project Hope for more than two years before the opportunity to join the Community Foundation arose. She is excited to be part of the work CFGV does to connect and support local nonprofits and our community. In her free time, Jessica enjoys many of the outdoor pursuits offered by the valley and surrounding areas, but also isn’t opposed to relaxing indoors with a good book or movie.
