Your right to privacy is very important to us.  We recognize that providing CFGV with your personal information is an act of trust.  In general, when you visit CFGV online, you remain anonymous; we do not require registration to view our website or access information.

We may occasionally ask for your feedback via surveys or other communications to better understand your interests and needs.  We may also request information through online forms used to register for a Foundation event.  The Foundation does not share or make public any personal information gathered through our website.  CFGV does not share, sell or rent email addresses to anyone outside the organization.  If the Foundation operates a mobile application, we also may collect any information available through your mobile device or the application, such as the type of device you use, your use of the application, and your geographic location.  The Foundation may gather and store personally identifiable information that you provide to us, directly or indirectly, about yourself or others, such as name, address, email, telephone numbers and cell phone numbers.

With Whom Do We Share the Personal Information We Collect Through This Site

Our Service Providers
We may share your personal information with companies that perform services on our behalf, for example, companies that help process credit card payments. Our service providers are required by contract to protect the confidentiality of the personal information we share with them and to use it only to provide specific services on our behalf.

Business Transfers
Your personal information may be transferred to another entity in connection with a merger, reorganization, dissolution or similar corporate event. If such a transfer were ever to occur, the acquiring entity’s use of your personal information will still be subject to this Privacy Policy.

Under IRS Code, the following Foundation documents are public information:

  • IRS Forms 990 and affiliated schedules for the past three years

A unique number called an IP address identities every computer on the Internet.  Each time you connect to the Internet, your machine is given an IP address – a number that identifies each sender or receiver of information sent across the Internet.  In general, when you visit, our third party hosting company will collect additional information such as the URL you came from, your IP address, your domain name, your browser type, the country and state where your server is located, and the pages that were viewed during your visit to our site. All this information is kept on a secure server to protect it from outside parties.  IP addresses are logged to track a user’s session while the user remains anonymous.  CFGV may use your IP address to help diagnose issues with our website and to administer the CFGV website.  Periodically, we analyze data for trends and statistics, such as which parts of our site users are visiting and how long they spend there.   We use this information to make our site friendly and more useful to visitors.

Cookies are small pieces of information that are stored by your browser on your computer’s hard drive.  Most Internet browsers automatically accept cookies, but if you prefer, you can edit your browser options to block them.  CFGV might collect certain demographic information about visitors to through the use of cookies.  If CFGV were to do this, it would only use this data to improve the overall website and for internal business purposes.

CFGV’s donor and registration forms may require users to give us contact information (email or address), demographic information (zip code and sometimes age), and method of payment. CFGV may use contact information given in the forms to send the user information about CFGV.  The contact information may also be used to contact a visitor when necessary information regarding method of payment is collected for registration to an event or to process donor gifts.  The Foundation may employ others to perform certain functions on our behalf. Examples include operating and maintaining our website, taking donations, sending mail and email, maintaining customer lists and other records, analyzing data, providing marketing consultation and other assistance, distributing customer surveys, processing credit and debit card payments, grant and scholarship applications and providing customer service. The Foundation will provide personally identifiable information about you to such other companies and individuals to the extent it is necessary or appropriate for them to perform the functions that we retain them to perform.

Throughout our website, we offer links to external sites that do not fall under the domain. Since we do not control those websites, we encourage you to review their privacy policies.  If you choose to follow such links to external websites, you do so at your own risk.  CFGV is not responsible for the contents of any linked site or any link contained in a linked site.  CFGV provides links to you only as a convenience; the inclusion of any link does not imply endorsement of the site by CFGV.

CFGV online surveys may ask respondents for contact information (such as an email address) and demographic information (such as zip code and age).  CFGV may use contact data from surveys to send you information about CFGV.

If at any time you wish to stop receiving CFGV’s electronic newsletters or other communications, or to be removed from our email list, you may unsubscribe from that list by contacting the Foundation.  CFGV will not give your email addresses to other organizations; however, we may occasionally send you mailings regarding events or services by reputable third parties if we think they may be of interest to you.  In such circumstances, we do not provide the organization with your information; rather, we send the mailing ourselves.

The CFGV website has security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under CFGV’s control.
