Carol Johnson has been coming to the Gunnison Valley with her family since the early 1950s and has family roots in the Valley dating back to the 1880s. Her grandfather, who was on the first faculty of the college in Gunnison, was the founder, in 1928, of the Rocky Mountain Biological Laboratory, in Gothic. Her parents, Chris and Dorothy Johnson, gave over 50 years of service to RMBL.
