Here for Good: A Community Celebration

May 3, 2024 | Notes From the Director

CFGV Blog

Please Join Us for Here for Good.

Who: Nonprofits (staff and board members) and anyone who wants to join us in celebrating them

What:

    • A celebration to honor the dozens of nonprofits doing vital creative, educational, recreational, nurturing, and community-building work in the Gunnison Valley
    • A spotlight on 2024 Community Grants Recipients
    • A chance for nonprofit volunteers, donors, board, and staff members to let their hair down and connect with each other as another busy summer season starts to wind down. There will be space for organizations to set up a table with information about your mission and/or current projects, programming, or campaigns, but this is certainly not required.

When: August 21, 3:30-6 p.m.

Where: Center for the Arts Crested Butte

Why: Because we love you all and we love this community

Thank you so much to everyone who donated to Gunnison County nonprofits for Colorado Gives Day! While the giving season is relatively short, your impact is felt throughout the year. You keep the Gunnison Valley ticking, whether you contribute to organizations providing basic needs, recreation, the environment, animal welfare, the arts, or more.

How a Marathon Parallels the Nonprofit Sector

My birthday is in October. This year, I decided to run a marathon to celebrate. My marathon experience is parallel to much of our work at CFGV. The visible part was race day, but that was only a sliver of preparation that went into success.
