Nonprofits

Community Foundation of the Gunnison Valley (CFGV) is a reflection of the great value our community members place on this Valley, our shared history, and our unique and welcoming communities.

Our nonprofits provide many of the services that make our Valley unique and our donors generously support those services through the CFGV’s programs and funds.

CFGV promotes active philanthropy by stewarding charitable gifts and making effective grants. We also help grow the capacity of the Valley’s nonprofits with technical assistance and referrals to resources within the valley and elsewhere in the state. Our resource library also provides internet links to helpful nonprofit resources.

Part of our mission is to help connect charitably minded citizens to nonprofit organizations working to improve the lives of Valley residents. Community Foundation of the Gunnison Valley also serves as a civic leader, convener, and sponsor of special initiatives.

We look to strengthen our nonprofit agencies in the areas of art and culture, community development, environment, education, human services, athletics, recreation, historical tradition and domestic animal welfare and protection. Our annual Competitive Grant Cycle funds today’s needs with today’s dollars. CFGV is also growing endowments that will support changing and emerging community needs far into the future.
