Transparency – A Foundation Value

The Foundation Board and Staff of the Community Foundation of the Gunnison Valley are committed to being open and honest with one another, the community, donors and Foundation grantees. We encourage the highest standards of conduct and ethics in all our work and have met National Standards for Community Foundation, a designation given by the Council on Foundations to those organizations who have met the high standards of a rigorous review by the Council ant their peers.

With a culture of respect permeating all activities, we make it easy for all segments of our community – residents, donors, nonprofits, government, and other funders – to feel connected with the Foundation in order to make our own resources more effective. Clear, coherent and simple communications advance the Foundation’s mission by enhancing the impact of our image-building, grantmaking and the effective use of our resources.

You are welcome to come to the office to read our Articles of Incorporation, our By-Laws and to review our Audits, our 990 Tax Returns and our current policies.  Just call and make an appointment!

The Community Foundation of the Gunnison Valley audit summaries are available in pdf format on this website (see left sidebar, this page), and 990 Tax returns are available at  The Community Foundation of the Gunnison Valley is not currently required to file a 990-T with the IRS; should the Foundation ever be required to file a 990-T, that information would also be available for public inspection in our office and online for the year in which it was filed.

Our Investment Advisor is Keith Guido with Vanguard in the Phoenix Office.  The Foundation’s Investment Committee meets the third Wednesday of each month at the Foundation Office.  If you would like to attend a meeting, know who serves on the committee in any given year, meet with one of the committee’s members or our Investment Advisor, please call the office and staff will facilitate your request.  970-641-8837
