The Gunnison Valley Really is Here for Good

On Wednesday, August 12, the community packed the Steddy Theatre at the Center for the Arts to celebrate the life-changing impact of the nonprofit sector and other community-building nonprofits in the Gunnison Valley. CFGV was honored to host and celebrate our friends and neighbors who contribute so much to making the Gunnison Valley a strong, connected, resilient, and fun place to live.

We also want to say a big thank you to everyone who attended to support your favorite nonprofits, and to community members who came to the event to learn about the different organizations working in the community. Our vision for CFGV is to inspire and connect people so everyone can thrive. Because you took time out of your Wednesday, you allowed us to see what the vision actually looks like in action. We are grateful to the Center for the Arts for giving us a wonderful space to convene in, to Joyful Rind for the tasty charcuterie and sweets, and to Nolan Blunck for being our official event photographer.

A Glimpse into What Your Grantees Do

In 2026, with the generous support of the community, CFGV was honored to award a record $250,000 in Community Grants to nonprofits and other community-building organizations. Our grantmaking process is guided by a committee of community members who carefully review applications and recommend funding based on impact, effectiveness, and community needs. These organizations go above and beyond in their work. We partnered with Laccolith Media to interview our grant recipients, who also happen to be your colleagues, friends, and neighbors, giving them a chance to share a little bit about what makes their organizations tick. We hope you enjoy this glimpse into their work as much as we did!

Bridge the Gap Campaign

While CFGV awarded a record amount in Community Grants, about $70,000 in highly rated grant requests remains available for donor support. We invite you to join us in making a gift to support your favorite local nonprofit, or a new one you just learned about from watching the video. Every dollar makes a difference in empowering these organizations to continue delivering for our community.

Thank You!

The unwavering support you show for our nonprofit community is a testament to the enduring care and love of this community. Thank you for believing in a thriving Gunnison Valley and dedicating yourselves to building a vibrant community.
