A Beautiful Wave of Generosity Across the Gunnison Valley

This was CFGV’s second year acting as a Regional Champion leading Gunnison County Gives as part of the statewide Colorado Gives Day. Colorado Gives Day is the largest mass-giving movement in the state of Colorado and one of the largest in the country. This year, giving for Colorado Gives Day began November 1 and ran through 11:59 p.m. on December 9, 2025. During this period, every donation was boosted by a $1 million+ Incentive Fund and gave nonprofits the chance to win part of $100,000 in prizes made possible by Colorado Gives Foundation and presenting sponsor, FirstBank. CFGV was also pleased to offer a $200 bonus gift for the local nonprofit with the largest average donation size.

Excitement Building

As we got closer to the big day, you could sense the excitement in the air. Giving Tuesday brought in a nice wave of generosity, with community members giving over $20,000 to participating local causes. When the big day hit, your CFGV staff dressed up in Colorado Gives Day themed shirts and local nonprofit organizations filled social media with posts highlighting the impact of gifts made to support them (check out some of them below).

2025 Results

Once again, Gunnison County gave generously. This year, community members near and far gave just over $190,000*, a 19% increase over last year. Hundreds of you combined to make 845 gifts to participating local and regional organizations, marking an 11% increase in the number of gifts compared to 2024. Several local organizations doubled their amount raised compared to last year’s totals. Valley Housing Fund earned the $200 prize for the local nonprofit with the largest average donation size.

Statewide, giving also increased. Last year’s total of $54.6 million was eclipsed by nearly two million, with $56.5 million raised in 2025. Over 100,000 people made gifts to nearly 5,000 organizations working in the state of Colorado. Thank you for being a part of this.

Keep the Wave of Generosity Coming

Even if you missed Colorado Gives Day in 2025, it’s still possible to make an impact! You can give directly to local organizations (check out our nonprofit directory if you’re not sure which local organizations do what), give to a project on the Gunnison Valley Giving Connection, or make a gift to a fund at CFGV.

*Note that the public tracker on Gunnison County Gives doesn’t exactly match the total we see through the “back end” of the Colorado Gives platform we have access to as a Regional Champion, likely due to matching gifts made offline.
