Janet Reinman

Janet Reinman recently retired as the Gunnison County Juvenile Services Director after working for the County for over 30 years. During her tenure, the department expanded beyond its original purpose of pre-court Diversion services to include a substance abuse prevention program and a family advocacy program. In a typical year, the department may serve as many as 700 youth in prevention programming and 50 plus youth and families in the advocacy and court services.

With a Masters in Counseling she is trained in most matters related to the health and wellness of youth. Janet helped create the program now called Gunnison Valley Mentors. She has served on numerous boards and committees over the years and has been a long time member of the County Child Protection Team. Currently she serves on the Leadership Committee for the Community Health Coalition of the Gunnison Valley that includes mental and physical health professionals, law enforcement, juvenile services, public health, and many nonprofits.

When Janet is not busy at work she enjoys reading her monthly Book Club selection in order to prepare to share thoughts and wine with her Book Club friends.
